Built around the tree
A century-old evergreen sits at the centre of the property. Everything else was planned around it, including the café roof.

In 2005, just as Boracay was growing into the global destination we know today, a small group of island-loving folk found themselves drawn to a quieter corner of the island: Bulabog Beach. At the time, Bulabog was beginning to gain recognition as a world-class kitesurfing and windsurfing hub. It was calm, tucked away from the loud nightlife — but close enough to still carry that indescribable old Boracay charm.
We saw an opportunity to build something simple: a place where we, our dogs, and a few wind sports travelers could enjoy an easy, grounded island life.
What started as a humble 4-bedroom homestay — then the only one in Bulabog — has grown into The Lazy Dog Bed and Breakfast, now offering 23 air-conditioned private rooms and 16 dorm beds. All are designed with thoughtful, sustainable touches and built around a beautiful, century-old evergreen tree.
We may have grown, but we’ve kept our soul: a love for slow mornings, dogs on the porch, friendly hellos, and long breakfasts.
Guests enjoy our breakfast in Boracay — from fresh local fare like milkfish and garlic rice to strong Vietnamese coffee.
Several guest reviews have called us a “hidden gem in Boracay” — low-key but full of character.

The lazy dogs
Milo was a golden retriever and the original Lazy Dog — the one our logo was based on.
Whiskey, also a golden retriever, gave the garden café its name. Whiskey’s Café is named in his memory.
Chili was a beloved part of The Lazy Dog family, and Miel is the current resident storyteller — she writes most of the journal, or so she claims.
Your dog is welcome to join them. They stay in the room with you, and service dogs are always welcome.
What we kept
A century-old evergreen sits at the centre of the property. Everything else was planned around it, including the café roof.
All 23 rooms and 16 dorm beds were designed with sustainable details rather than a resort template.
Long breakfasts, friendly hellos, dogs on the porch. The whole point of the place, then and now.
